Day 5 - Travel to Zhengzhou

Ford Transit - China Style
Today we traveled to the capital city of the Henan province.  We got to the airport early and enjoyed Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks for breakfast.  The trip was rather uneventful.  When we landed we saw there was A LOT of smog.  We felt it in our eyes and smelled it in the air.  By the time we got to our van, all of our eyes were watering and some of us were coughing.  Our guide told us that many of the flights into Zhenghzhou that day had been canceled or redirected to other airports.  We also learned that the highway was closed due to poor visibility and we would have to take side streets to our hotel.  Praise God we made it to our destination!

The final arrangement
Our hotel seems nice.  It is really close to a lot of restaurant. It is also close to a grocery store/department store called Carrefour.  This is a big chain in China similar to Wal-Mart.  We decided to go there straight away to stock up on supplies (i.e. junk food) and then eat at Pizza Hut for dinner.
Food (left to right): Spaghetti, Fried Rice, Stuffed Crust Pepperoni
Nathan got up the courage to ask our waitress to take a picture with him.  Go Nathan!

Tomorrow is Gotcha Day where we pick up Ella!
