Day 3 - Beijing

Hello jet lag!  Oh my!  Last night was rough!  The kids were awake pretty much every hour starting at 10:45pm.  Yes, you heard that right. Awake.all.night.  It was awesome! Not!  It was especially great when they were fighting with one another at 1 am.  We were able to quiet them down with a movie.  Needless to say, we are off our schedule and trying our best to deal with the fatigue.

Today we headed to the Great Wall.  It was amazing!  Although Matt and Deanna had visited before, this was a completely different experience and to a different section of the Wall.  The car ride there was about 2 1/2 hours.  When we arrived we dined at Subway.  Claire has had great anticipation for eating Subway at the Great Wall.  A cheese sandwich never tasted so good! ;)  After lunch we rode chairlifts up to the Wall.  It was a pretty clear day.  The fall colors really made the Wall very beautiful.  We enjoyed exploring and climbing the Great Wall.  The highlight of the day was the trip down: toboggans!  The kids LOVED it!  It was so much fun!

This evening we went to a acrobat show.  The kids thought the acts were very interesting and entertaining.  Now, we feast on Pizza Hut and then off to bed.  Tomorrow we fly to Maelee's city of Chengdu.

The sleeping situation.

Claire happy with her Subway.

Our wonderful guide, Emily.
