We are sure you want an update on growth and development. Micah has grown about 3/4" in the past month. He still remains the same weight as the day we picked him in China. The boy can eat, but still needs some meat on his bones. He is a tiny little guy. He continues to make stride with his English. He seems to understand most of what we say to him. He is beginning to string together short phrases. He is able to communicate most needs. We are so grateful that there has not been much frustration in the language department. He is beginning to learnt to count past 10 in English. We are continuing to work on learning colors.
We are enjoying the "firsts" he is experiencing along with some things we know that he did in China. He is really starting to show us his likes and dislikes. He loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates. It is so cute to hear him talk about "Jake-a" and say "Yo, Ho, Lets Go!" Many words he says sound a bit like an Italian accent. It is cute-a! He also likes to color and sing. He likes to play street hockey, play with cars and play with the hockey, soccer and football guys (a play set).
His favorite foods are noodles, soup, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and chicken. He is growing in his likeness of my cooking. Most meals he finds something he likes. He is not a fan of cheese, so pizza is definitely not his favorite. That is a meal where he usually gets to eat dumplings. We still struggle in the fruit and veggie department, but he is eating well.
He had his appointment with his urologist. He will have his surgeries and some testing on October 8th. Please be in prayer that the surgeries will be successful and uncomplicated. Also, pray that he will understand what will be happening on surgery day and during recovery.
Once again, thank you for your prayers and support. We know that Micah's adjustment is a great answer to prayer!
