One Month!

Wow!  Time is flying by!  June 16th marked one month since Gotcha Day.  Micah is doing great!  His favorite things include: swimming, bubbles, balloons, balls, and cars.  His favorite foods are: hard boiled eggs, dumplings, noodles, chicken and cookies.  He also loves to sing!  What a joy it is to hear him sing "Jesus loves Me."  We are so thankful that we have the opportunity to share Jesus with him.  We pray that someday he knows how much Jesus loves him.  We pray that he will trust in Jesus as his Savior.

The most asked question: How is his English coming?
He is understanding simple phrases and commands.  He also repeats a few English words and phrases (thank you, hello, bye bye, yummy yummy, all done, night night).  He can count to 10 and can almost sing his ABC's.  We still hear him mostly speak Mandarin.  It is pretty cute to hear him speak his native language and mix it with English.  The highlight in the language department has been hearing, "wo ai ni" or "I love you."  It is the best!  We are definitely seeing his trust in us and we hope that he feels so loved.

First time riding a bike...it was a bit rough.  He was very frustrated.
Good thing we have the rest of the Summer to practice!

This week we have started his medical evaluations.  He has seen the pediatrician and had some diagnostic testing.  He will be seeing a specialist in a couple weeks for his medical condition and most likely more testing.  We are anticipating a surgery at some point this year, also.  We trust that God has all of the details of his care planned and that He will give the doctors wisdom for his treatment plan.

We are so thankful for all of your prayers and support.  Thank you for being a part of Micah's journey.
